SHOVING "UNDER THE RUG" VS. "LETTING GO"

SHOVING THINGS "UNDER THE RUG" IS NOT THE SAME AS "LETTING GO" --

Ever tried to pretend it was? I believe we all know the difference in our hearts but sometimes fool ourselves into thinking we've "moved on" when all that's happened is we've shoved something "under the rug."
In fact, ignoring an uncomfortable issue or shoving it under the rug is the opposite of letting go because you haven't dealt with the thing at all.
For curious minds, the expression of "shoving it under the rug" came from lazy maids who would sweep dirt under the rug instead of getting a dust pan and putting in the extra effort to remove the dirt.
Same thing applies to our emotional, psychological and relationship challenges or "dirt." If you shove uncomfortable or confusing things "under the rug" and pretend you've dealt with them, they're just sitting there waiting for you, ready to show up when you'd least like them to.
Sending courage and support to all of us to put in the extra effort to get out the dust pan so we can live the beautiful, amazing reward of a decluttered life for real.
