YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO “JUST ONE THING”

“The Whole is Greater Than the Sum of Its Parts” -- Aristotle
Your unique combination of passions is precisely what makes you YOU. Don't let anyone talk you out of that! From a marketing point of view, you just have to figure out what ties all your passions together and then it won't be confusing to people. I can help if you want.
Your business and life will not necessarily be less successful if you don't pick your ”one thing.”
Why do I say this? How do I know this? Because my whole career of design, copywriting and tech development people (used to) say to me, ”But which do you REALLY love?” I ruminated long and hard to figure out if I was fooling myself or holding myself back by not ”just” being a designer, writer or techie. And after a lot of soul-searching, client work and learning, I realized that what makes me ”me” was that ”the whole is greater than the sum of its parts,” a phrase I first heard in my religion major and now find out was stated by Aristotle.
What I do is combine these three key areas of business and creativity to create an outcome unlike any other. And THAT is my sweet spot, not just one of those areas. I look at the whole picture.
When I started owning that the combination of creative elements was exactly what I offer, my business started to sing. I knew how to answer those who questioned it because I'd examined it deeply.
Multi-passionate is a phrase my entrepreneurial world likes to use about people who love to do more than one thing. So for all you multi-passionate people, whether you're starting out or are a fine-tuned expert, I salute you, encourage you and am right there with you.
