We all know that first impressions are lasting. Same is true with e-mail. E-mail is the most personal way to communicate with people you don't know personally (and even those you do sometimes). 

I use several e-mail marketing platforms for clients, including:

These are the providers I'm happy to work with, having also used many others that can make you nuts. 

This is for your initial welcome e-mail. It can contain imagery or not. It can be funny, serious, intriguing or informational. We'll talk through what makes sense for your audience and goals. We'll keep it not too long but long enough to convey what's needed. Different audiences respond well to different approaches.
